Sh R C JAIN Profile

The Legacy

Shri R. C. Jain - The Pioneer of Vision (1917-2004)

A prodigious artist by nature and discipline, Shri R. C. Jain stands as the unshakable cornerstone of our artistic lineage. Born into an era of profound cultural ferment, he entered the eminent Maharaja School of Arts, Jaipur, in 1937, where his extraordinary talent swiftly set him apart. He would later be awarded a coveted scholarship from the Bombay School of Arts for advanced study in London, a prestigious opportunity he chose to forgo in honour of familial responsibility, a decision that forever defined the quiet nobility of his character.

His mastery spanned watercolour landscapes of lyrical delicacy, meticulous anatomical studies, evocative portraiture, refined design, commercial illustration, and still-life compositions executed with poetic restraint and an unwavering command of form. His works were exhibited with deep admiration at Jawahar Kala Kendra, Jaipur, where connoisseurs and scholars alike recognized the depth of his vision.

Following his passing in 2004, the entirety of his artistic archive: sketches, paintings, notes, and personal studies was entrusted to his great grandson, Airav Jain, on 20th July 2009, to be preserved with scholarly devotion and archival purpose.

Today, Shri R. C. Jain's spirit endures in every stroke, every canvas, and in every artist his legacy continues to illuminate an eternal flame guiding the Pheelkhana lineage forward.
